The purpose of this week in the course is to provide you with opportunities to reflect on empowerment and share ideas with peers about empowerment in practice.
Our objectives are:
To assist you to reflect on empowement processes in practice;
To assist you to understand the range of context in which empowerment is relevant in CLD;
To assist you to understand the different empowering processes that are relevant to CLD.
Think of a time when your work has been empowering. It may be work with an individual or a group. Think about the difference you made and how you effected a change. Think about exactly what the change was and how you know it was an empowering process. Then, share your experience in a blog of your choice. We should end up with a colourful collection of empowerment examples.
We have provided links to different blog sites that you may want to use to create your blog. If you've never done a blog before now is a good time to learn!
By the end of the week you should be able to reflect on the quality and extent of empowerment in CLD.
